Fast and easy family recipes: Buttermilk cheesecake recipe

Buttermilk cheesecake recipe with a southern twist.

1 cup butter, room temperature

1-1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup cornmeal

1-1/4 cup sugar

3-8 ounces packages cream cheese

3/4 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon vanilla

4 eggs

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt 1/2 cup butter. Add cracker crumbs, cornmeal and 1/4 cup sugar, mixing thoroughly. Pour it into greased 10-inch springform pan and press into bottom and partially up sides. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.

Cream remaining butter and sugar with cream cheese until smooth. Add buttermilk and vanilla and beat until well mixed. Add eggs and beat slowly until combined. Do not overbeat.

Pour batter into crust and bake for 20 minutes. Turn oven down to 300 degrees and bake for an additional 30 minutes. Turn oven to 200 degrees and bake for approximately 20 minutes more. Cool and chill for several hours.
